India have continued to dominate the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh in Indore. After bundling out the visitors for just 150 runs, the Virat Kohli-led side has piled up runs thanks to their opener Mayank Agarwal who has now slammed a sensational double ton, his second within 45 days. India have also extended their lead beyond 200 runs now even as Bangladesh bowlers are looking tired and flustered.
The second day began with the overnight batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal aiming to overhaul the opposition’s first innings total. But Abu Jayed’s brilliance cut short the former’s impressive knock. The same bowler trapped Virat Kohli in front of the stumps in the same over to leave the crowd stunned. But Agarwal more than made up for it with his eye-catching strokeplay.
The Karnataka batsman took his time initially and rebuilt the innings first along with Ajinkya Rahane. However, when the spinners were introduced, he used his feet nicely to dominate the proceedings. Mayank Agarwal took a special liking to Mehidy Hasan smashing him for sixes at will.
Mayank Agarwal obliges to Kohli’s wish
Soon after the lunch break, Mayank Agarwal crossed the three-figures and flourished even more with his partnership with Rahane going from strength to strength. He was dropped by Imrul Kayes on 32 late on the opening day of the Test, and the 28-year-old made Bangladesh pay heavily for the mistake. He didn’t give any chance to the opposition and is making a habit of scoring big hundreds.
Not for one bit he lost his concentration during the marathon knock and despite losing Rahane at the other end soon after the team break, Agarwal kept going strong. Rather, Virat Kohli gestured him to score a double hundred when he raised his bat after getting to 150. And Mayank Agarwal duly obliged to his captain’s wish. He reached his second Test double ton with a gigantic six off Mehidy Hasan and soaked in all the applause from the Indore crowd.
The free-flowing knock continues as Ravindra Jadeja has provided him support now. India look set to pile on the agony for Bangladesh as there are no signs for declaration as well and Agarwal is looking hungry as usual for runs.

Shreyas Iyer and Mayank Agarwal are the best hitters of spin bowling we have, at this moment.

Great example of how to cement your place. Having toiled for so long, Mayank Agarwal is making his opportunity, and form, count. This is a classy double.

Fewest innings to make two Test double centuries for India
5 – Vinod Kambli
12 – Mayank Agarwal
18 – Cheteshwar Pujara#IndvBan #IndvsBan— Mohandas Menon (@mohanstatsman) November 15, 2019
When I set eyes on Mayank Agarwal the first time, it was during the under 19 WC in NZ, he looked a little replica of Virender Sehwag. Today he got to his 200 in true Sehwag style! ๐๐๐๐๐๐#MayankAgarwal
