Mumbai Indians took on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in another thrilling encounter at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. Captain Rohit Sharma won the toss as MI elected to field first. While RCB brought in Chris Gayle and S Aravind, MI had debutant Nitish Rana coming in.

Batting first, RCB lost the man in-form Virat Kohli early who was followed by Gayle. While AB de Villiers and Shane Watson too failed to do the needful, KL Rahul again stepped up as he smashed 68 from just 53 balls and came to his team’s rescue.

Royal Challengers could only manage 151/4 in their quota of 20 overs, thanks to some clinical bowling effort by the Mumbai bowlers. Rookie left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers with outstanding figures of 1/16 in his 4 overs and picked up the Man of the Match at the end of the game.

On the other hand, MI lost Parthiv Patel early, but Ambati Rayudu and Rohit Sharma built on a good partnership as Mumbai recovered from the early slump. However once both got out, they were again reduced to pressure. With 68 required from 6 overs, what followed was Kieron Pollard 35 (19)* and Jos Buttler 29 (11)* storming the RCB bowlers as they cruised MI to victory.

In the end, Mumbai Indians won by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare. Varun Aaron picked 2 wickets but was expensive. On the other hand, Yuzvendra Chahal and S Aravind were exceptional.

Twitter kept everyone entertained with some splendid tweets throughout the game. Right from lauding MI bowling to trolling RCB batting, then trolling RCB bowlers to lauding Buttler and Pollard, here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:
