The third and final match of the three-match T20I series between Pakistan and West Indies took place on December 16 in Karachi. Though Pakistan had already won the series by winning the initial two games, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam flaunted scintillating class to lead Pakistan home yet again. By winning the final fixture by seven wickets, the host side whitewashed the visiting nation 3-0.

Winning the toss, West Indies decided to take up their chances with bats first and the top three batters of the side stole the show. Though Brandon King and Sharmarh Brooks missed their half-centuries by a few runs, their 43 and 49 respectively set the guest nation for a perfect start. This wasn’t enough as the skipper Nicholas Pooran walked in to lead from the front.

Pooran smashed 64 off 37 balls to push his side breach the 200-run mark at the end of 20 overs. The finishing touch to the scoreboard was added by the cameo of Darren Bravo who played a fine knock of 34 off 27. While all the Pakistan bowlers were sent to cleaners in the third game, Shahnawaz Dhani ceased the run flow a bit by maintaining economy of 5.75 and picking a wicket. Mohammad Wasim got two wickets under his belt.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Pakistan’s amazing victory over West Indies

Asif Ali wraps up the game perfectly for Pakistan

When Pakistan batters came up to bat, it came up as a cherishing sight for Pakistan fans as good runs came from skipper Babar Azam’s bat. Mohammad Rizwan and Azam led the chase from the front and made the gigantic target look like a children’s game. Azam smashed 79 off 53 while Rizwan carried forward his golden run by playing a match-winning knock of 87 off 45. Towards the end, Asif Ali breathed absolute fire and wrapped up the game by smashing 21 off seven balls.

In the same light, it is to be noted that the three-match ODI series which was scheduled between the two teams, has been canceled for now, and moved to June 2022 due to multiple COVID-19 cases in the visiting camp.
