Twitter Reactions: Nasum Ahmed strangle Australia into submission as Bangladesh wins opener
Bangladesh won their first-ever T20I against Australia.
Australia was up against Bangladesh for the 1st T20I of the five-match T20I series which commenced on August 03 in Bangladesh. Bangladesh won the series opener by 23 runs as they stunned Kangaroos by their bowling action. Australia won the toss and decided to move up the field with the ball under the captaincy of Matthew Wade. Bangladesh couldn’t step up the field very well and started losing wickets gradually.
Opening batsman Mohammad Naim and home side’s ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan got decent scores in their bags. While Naim added 30 off 29 in the beginning, Hasan chipped in with 36 off 33 before getting trapped by Josh Hazlewood. Home skipper Mahmudullah and Afif Hossain remained in their 20s to push their side as they posted meager 131/7 on the board.
Josh Hazlewood turned out to be the pick of the bowlers as he picked three wickets and ace pacer Mitchell Starc got two under his belt. Both Andrew Tye and Ashton Agar refused to leak runs as they conceded at 5.50 while the former got one wicket to his credit. As Australia took the field with the bat, they were in for some trouble as they lost quick three wickets.

Nasum Ahmed stuns Australia in the series opener to push Bangladesh over the line
Alex Carey, Josh Philippe, and Moises Henriques, all three were shown their way to the pavilion where their scoreboard read 11 runs. However, Mitchell Marsh showed the courage to settle their innings as he added 45 runs off 45 balls. On the name of runs, after Marsh, skipper Wade could add 13 while pacer Starc added 14. When it had already turned unachievable for Australia, their show ended on 108 runs in the given 20 overs.
Talking about bowling action of the home side, the 26-year-old leg-spinner Nasum Ahmed owned the night in every sense. He picked a classy four-for while conceding at 4.80. Mustafizur Rahman also bowled tight spells as he conceded just 16 runs in four overs. However, the show started with Mahedi Hasan who kicked off the carnage after dismissing Alex Carey right in the beginning.
