His performance on overseas soil in Tests has been no less than abysmal.

Rohit Sharma has played 25 Tests thus far in which he has scored 1479 runs at an average of 39.97. He also has three centuries, however, all of them came in India against oppositions- Windies and Sri Lanka- who haven’t quite performed to expectations in the last few years. At home, he has played nine Tests in which he has scored 769 runs at a stupendous average of 85.44.
But his performance on overseas soil has been no less than abysmal. The right-hander has played 16 Tests and has only scored 710 runs at an average of 25.35. The Mumbai-cricketer has four half-centuries to credit. Rohit was a part of the Test squad when Virat Kohli’s boys toured South Africa for a three-match tri-series. He could manage on 78 runs in the two matches he played.
Rohit’s topsy-turvy career
Recently, he showed prime form in the tour of England. In the T20I series, he scored his third T20I century and equalled Colin Munro’s record of the most half-centuries in the 20-overs format. In the ODI series, he had a couple of lacklustre matches at Lord’s and Headingley respectively. Nevertheless, he was impressive in the first match at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
While his limited-overs career flourished to a large extent, his Test career has capitulated to a significant extent. Both his career has been contrasting, to say the least. India’s Test squad for their tour of England has recently been announced and Rohit didn’t find a place in the squad. He is a tad disappointed for the reason of omission from the team. Rohit however, had failed quite miserably with the bat when he toured South Africa.
He is trying to keep himself upbeat and keep a positive outlook after the eviction. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Sun will rise again tomorrow”
Here is Rohit’s tweet ย
