Twitter Reactions: Pakistan crush Zimbabwe in the final T20I to win the series 3-0
Pakistan whitewashed Zimbabwe in the final T20I by eight wickets to clinch the series.
After walking in style for the last two T20Is against Zimbabwe, Pakistan set action with the visitors for the third and final game of the tour today in Rawalpindi. The hosts dominated yet again as they won the game by eight wickets and the T20I series by 3-0. Choosing to show up with the bat first, Zimbabwe got wrapped up on an ordinary score of 129 runs. The opening tactics by Brendan Taylor failed to fetch something significant for the team.
Usman Qadir shone in the series like a star as he bagged both, player of the match and the series award. The middle order of Zimbabwe also turned out to be an utter failure as they failed to shine in the final event. Chamu Chibhabha donned the responsibility of a skipper to a little extent as he could score 31 runs from his bat. Though not a huge score, his 31 off 28 stood to be the highest individual score from their end.
Pakistan bowling attack was inch perfect
The spin attack of Qadir was adamant enough to cease the run from the opposite end. He bagged a four-wicket haul to his credit to rupture the batting structure of Zimbabwe’s side. He just conceded 13 runs off his spell to produce the best economy from Pakistan’s bowling section. The guests were nearing an ordinary score before Donald Tiripano played a brief inning of 28 runs from his bat.
Muhammad Musa also turned out to be economical but had to remain wicketless, and Imad Wasim named two wickets under his belt. Chasing the target, Pakistan set the pace from the beginning only to sail easily. Fakhar Zaman (21 off 24) and Haider Ali (27 off 20) left the pitch after their decent cameos. The rest of the job was handled well enough by Abdullah Shafique and Khushdil Shah.
Shafique smashed 41 off 33, whereas Shah created a thunder as he played with a terrific strike-rate of 240.00 to score 36 off 15.
Last international outing for Elton Chigumbura
Wellington Masakadza and Milton Shumba picked a wicket each for the Zimbabwe team. The last international game for star all-rounder Elton Chigumbura didn’t turn out well for his team as Pakistan outclassed the guests in every single department. He received the guard of honour from Pakistan players when he walked in the field for his final international show. He graced the Zimbabwe side for great 16 years but unfortunately couldn’t win the last game of his career.
