By defeating New Zealand in the third T20I, Pakistan have successfully accomplished its second clean sweep in the last few days. They survived a little scare from Kane Williamson to keep their fortress in Dubai intact. The side has now won 11 T20I series in a row and Babar Azam, yet again, was the chief architect of the win. Furthermore, the bowlers didn’t disappoint and delivered just what was expected of them.
Babar Azam and Hafeez continue to be consistent
Pakistan team is defending total very well in the recent past. Hence, skipper Sarfraz Ahmed had no hesitations in opting to bat first after winning the toss. Their entire batting innings was dictated by just two men. Firstly, Babar Azam was terrific on the night with 79 off 56 balls. In the process, he became the fastest to 1,000 T20I runs. He got to the landmark in just 26 innings surpassing Virat Kohli who reached there in 27 innings.
Mohammad Hafeez at the other end played the perfect partner to Azam. He was unbeaten on 53 off 34 deliveries. An aggressive cameo by Shoaib Malik (19 off 9 balls) at the end helped the hosts get to 166/3 in 20 overs, their highest total in the last six games.
Kane Williamson’s profound attempts go in vain
The Blackcaps didn’t have the ideal start to the chase. They were 13/2 just in the 4th over and lost the in-form Colin Munro early in the innings. The asking rate kept mounting up all the time before Kane Williamson decided to get his class act out. The Kiwi skipper played some unbelievably beautiful shots all around the ground. He combined sheer brilliance with aggression and looked to be taking the game away from the opposition.
He struck 60 off 38 balls before Shadab Khan dismissed him and Glenn Phillips in the same over. Once Kane Williamson fell, the Kiwi batting order fell like a pack of cards. From 96/2, they were all out for 119. As the result, Pakistan won the match by 47 runs.
It is a double clean sweep for Pakistan as Australia was met with the same fate just a few days ago. The joy of the fans knew no bounds and they were all over Twitter. There were several congratulatory messages for Babar Azam as he reached a great milestone. Twitterati praised Hafeez and empathised for Kane Williamson.
Here is how Twitterati reacted:

Babar Azam the quickest in the world to 1000 T20 runs..Take a bow !! His record is a major reason why Pakistan has been dominating the T20 circuit!! His genius is built on doing the simple things well..which could be a difficult thing to pull off for most!!!
