Twitter Reactions: KXIP bow down to King Kohli

Kings XI Punjab took on the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The outcome of the match was an inconsequential one for the visitors but for the hosts, a defeat would have meant an ouster from the race to the playoffs. The last time these two teams met in the competition, RCB snatched a one-run victory over the Kings. In such a backdrop, the game promised a lot for the tweeterati.
Tweets kept flogging in for the match and was totally justified with the kind of batting the RCB put on. Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli absolutely butchered the Kings XI bowling right from the first over. The duo took a special liking to KC Cariappa and took him for 55 runs in his 3 overs. The 5 over powerplay saw just 53 runs, saying that because the brutal assassination kicked off after the powerplay.

The duo hammered Axar Patel, Kyle Abbott and Cariappa who under so much pressure started bowling full tosses. Gayle raced to 73 off just 32 balls with 4 fours and 8 maximums before being dismissed by Patel. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers put on 147 run stand in just 66 balls for the opening wicket. AB de Villiers suffered a rare failure but the captain marvellous continued his sublime form to cross 50-run mark in this edition of the IPL.
RCB posted a huge total on the board which was never in the range of the struggling Kings. The Kings XI Punjab kept trying with their batsmen getting starts but none could put up a hand to stand at one end and take the batting through. David Miller failed to get amongst the runs yet again and is sure to draw some criticism after the game.
For the RCB bowling point of view, Yuzvendra Chahal bagged 4 wickets, his best in his IPL career. It was a thoroughly clinical performance by RCB that saw them romp the Kings. Here is how Twitter reacted right through the course of the game:
VS: If I was a record I would fear the sight of Virat/Ab because I know one day I will be broken!!#MatchPeCharcha #RCBvKXIP

The only way to stop sixes at the Chinnaswamy Stadium is to bowl wides or push the boundary rope to MG Road and Cubbon Park.
