The 2nd T20I at Lauderhill turned out to be a washed out affair with no result. The West Indians ended up winning the series 1-0. Earlier in the game, MS Dhoni won the toss as India elected to field first again. India had Mishra in the playing XI instead of Binny while WI had an unchanged squad from the last game.

The Windies didn’t have a solid start as Shami sent back the centurion from last game back to the pavilion in his second over. While Charles played a glittering knock of 43 from 25 balls, continuing from where he left in the first game, he fell short of partners.

The Indian bowlers bowled much better lengths to the previous game while the spinners including Mishra bowled in tandem. The West Indies hitters struggled to combat spin and lost track. They eventually got all out for 143 runs in the last over.

Mishra was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets while Ashwin, Bumrah and Shami also got a couple of wickets. It was a complete turnaround performance by the Indian bowlers compared to the last game where they conceded 245 runs in 20 overs.

As the innings break happened, the start of the Indian innings was delayed due to rain. While the covers came off and it seemed we might get full 20 overs, it began to rain just as the second over got completed. It never stopped and hence Dhoni had to shake hands with Brathwaite and call it a day.

The T20 champions West Indies ended up the tourney to USA with a 1-0 series win. Twitter lauded the Indian bowlers for a superb day on the field. They also lurked at the rain which stole a possible victory for India.

Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game
