Twitter Reactions: Rangpur Riders beat Chittagong to win the inaugural match of BPL 3: The 1st match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 3 had all the possible excitement a game of T20 promises. A big score, early wickets in the chase, a superb comeback and a last ball finish.

Batting first the Chittagong Vikings scored 187 in their quota of 20 overs; opener Tamim Iqbal hit a quickfire half-century scoring 51 off 32 balls with the help of 6 fours and a six. Tillakaratne Dilshan, Anamul Haque and Jeevan Mendis (29 of 16, 36 from 30 and 39 in 18 balls) all played brilliantly to take the team to a par looking total.

Mohammad Amir opened the bowling for Chittagong and his first over in BPL was a maiden. After a good first over he returned to get rid of both the openers Lendl Simmons and Soumya Sarkar off consecutive balls and Taskin Ahmed got Mohammad Mithun out for a duck to shake up Rangpur’s chase and once they were reduced to 23/4 after skipper Shakib Al Hasan was caught by Haque off Shafiqul Islam the match looked almost over for them.

The momentum was with Chittagong until Misbah-ul-Haq (61 off 39 balls) and Thisara Perera (43 from 17 balls) combined for the match-changing partnership worth 80 which overturned the course of the game and brought the Riders back into the hunt. In the end, Darren Sammy hit a few blow scoring 18 off 7 balls and took them steps away from victory before getting run out. On the last ball of the match, Saqlain Sajib hit the ball down the ground and Rangpur Riders got the required run to win.

Here is how the world of Twitter reacted to Riders win in the 1st match of BPL 3:
