The Rising Pune Supergiants took on the Sun Risers Hyderabad in a one-sided encounter at Hyderabad. Captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first. While RPS brought in Ashok Dinda and Mitchell Marsh while SRH had Ashish Nehra coming back after an injury for Barinder Sran. The start of the match was delayed by an hour due to rain but no overs were reduced.
Batting first, SRH lost David Warner in the first over as he went for a duck. The wickets kept falling like a pack of cards for SRH as they were reduced to 32/5. However, Shikhar Dhawan’s 56 (53) gave the SRH bowlers something to fight for. Bhuvneshwar Kumar with 21 (8) also played a good cameo in the end.
The comeback man Dinda was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 wickets while Marsh also got a couple of wickets. SRH could manage only 118 at the loss of 8 wickets in their quota of 20 overs.
Chasing a modest 119, Ajinkya Rahane got out for a duck. Thereafter Steve Smith and Faf du Plessis built up an 80-run partnership as they paved way for a comfortable victory. While du Plessis got out for 30 (21), Smith scored a brilliant 46 from 36 balls not out as RPS won the game by a trouncing margin. Bhuvanesh, Nehra, and Henriques took one wicket apiece.
In the end, Pune won the game by 34 runs as per the D/L method as rain again played a spoilsport. Twitter kept everyone entertained with some splendid tweets during the game. Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:

No Cristiano for Real Madrid tonight, not even on the bench. Dinda has made such a big impact in his first game of the season. #SRHvRPS

First time in IPL and 2nd in all T20s, the first over of both innings was a maiden wicket over. Other was Renegades v Heat in BBL 2014-15.
