Gujarat Lions after proving their dominance at home came to Mumbai and beat the home team in a thrilling game that went down till the last ball. In the end, Aaron Finch despite struggling with his hamstring proved unconquerable and took the team over the line with a four on the ultimate ball of the game where they needed a run to win.
Suresh Raina won the toss and decided to bowl first given that the Mumbai wicket still had assistance to offer to the bowlers and chasing is always easier with the target set and dew playing its part. The Lions bowlers roared right from the start as MI skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed in the second over by Dhawan Kulkarni, he returned back in his second to get rid of Hardik Pandya who was once again walked in at no.3 and failed. Parthiv Patel stayed there and his 34 along with 20 from Ambati Rayudu gave them some score but at 99 for 7 they looked good to get 110-115.
Cameos from Tim Southee and Krunal Pandya who scored 25 and 20 runs off 11 balls each ensured Mumbai got to 143/8 in 20 overs. Krunal had hit the last ball for a biggie and it looked good enough to go over the ropes but young Akshwadeep Nath put in everything he had on the line and converted it into just 2, and when we see it on the larger canvas in the context of the game those four runs proved to be the difference.
Brendon McCullum got out early but his partner Aaron Finch who is batting at a different level from all other batsmen was superb once again and stayed unbeaten on 67 off 54 to complete three hat-tricks- GL won their third game, Finch hit his third half-century in as many matches and he won his third Man of the Match award in the tournament.
Here is how twitter reacted during the game:

Finch has been batting like he has a point to prove and so far, he has proven that point quite magnificently. His bat loves to talk. #MIvGL

Ravi Shastri does an Jamaican accent when talking about Bravo. Imagine the outrage if Ian Bishop did a Gujarati accent for Parthiv.

Twice now Mumbai's batting has fallen short. Will they keep backing them or will there be changes in the offing? #IPL9 #MIvGL #IPL2016

One run needed off the last ball. Credit must go to Akshdeep Nath too for that super save off the last ball. Saved 4 runs for his team. #IPL
