After registering two consecutive wins in the ongoing Nidahas Trophy, team India looked determined to make it three in a row. The stage was all set for the last league game for the Men in Blue in the series. They were up against the Bangladeshi side, that had found their mojo a couple of days ago. Bangladesh came in to the game riding on high spirits from their record run chase against Sri Lanka in their previous encounter.

The Bangladeshi side knew that a win in the game would seal the finals berth for them. With such backdrop, the two sides were ready for the action. And now, at the half way stage in the game, it is safe to say that both the sides have an equal chance of winning the game. Team India, after having been asked to bat first, ended up scoring 176/3 in their stipulated 20 overs.

It was the Bangladeshi skipper who won the toss and opted to field first. They played the same side and did not tinker with the winning combination. On the other hand, team India had the liberty to test their bench strength in the game. They drafted in Mohammed Siraj in place of Jaydev Unadkat in the match.

In walked the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, to start the proceedings. Rohit, in particular, was under serious pressure to perform after a string of low scores. The two batsmen got off to a decent start as they added 70 runs for the first wicket, albeit at a low scoring rate. The partnership was broken when Rubel Hossain cleaned up Shikhar Dhawan on 35 (27).

Suresh Raina joined Rohit at the crease as India crossed the 100-run mark. Rohit also went past his individual fifty as the team looked for a final flourish from the two senior players.  Suresh Raina played well for his 30-ball 47 before getting dismissed in the final over.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma perished on the final delivery of the innings on 89. His knock came off 61 deliveries with 5 fours and 5 sixes. India finished with 176/3 on the board. Rubel, who bowled an excellent last over conceding just 4 runs, was the pick of the bowlers with 2/27 to his name.
