Rohit Sharma has been masterful for India and his IPL side Mumbai Indians over the years. He has played some magnificent innings for both the teams and is one of the best Indian batters of this generation. The Mumbai-lad was out with injury for more than five months and that has not helped his cause.
Rohit played a few games before the IPL for his domestic side Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy but was not good enough. He scored 16 in the first match against Andhra Pradesh and 4 in the second game against Goa. Everyone gave Rohit the benefit of doubt then as he was out for a long period of time.
However, the start of the Indian Premier League has not been good for him either. In fact, the things are even worse for him. Rohit has scored just 11 runs in four matches for his side. Out of those four, three dismissals came at the hands of leg spinners. Rohit likes the ball coming onto his bat but is a great player of spin as well but that has not been the case in this year’s IPL.
He has the scores of 3, 4, 4, and 0 in the first four games. The duck came in the ongoing game against Royal Challengers Bangalore as he was deceived by the wrong one from Samuel Badree who became the first man to claim a hat trick in season 10.
If it was not for the other batters, Rohit’s team would not have been the same it is right now. He has been through the rough phases as a batter before but this chain of dismal performances is coming at the wrong time for him. The Champions trophy is just around the corner and India would not want to hunt for another opener.
Rohit Sharma has been there before and time and again he has proved his critics wrong, every fan of his will be hoping for him to do well. After getting out for a duck against RCB, Twitter lashed out at Rohit for his string of failures.
There were some hate tweets while some fans encouraged him. Let us have a look at some of the best tweets of the lot.
