Twitter Reactions: Royal Challengers Bangalore tame Kings in Indore
Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore absolutely crushed the Kings XI Punjab in Indore in their most recent encounter. Coming in to the game, the Virat Kohli side desperately needed to win to stay alive in the competition. Now, after having won the game, not only have they added two crucial points to their tally, but also have done a world of good to their net run rate. The Kings bundled out for a mere 88 in the game. And the Royal Challengers Bangalore had no problem whatsoever to overhaul the total with ease.
Talking about the game, the Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli had no hesitation in opting to bowl first after winning the toss. He remarked that his decision to bowl first is a ‘no brainer’. The Kings were jolted early on the day even before the game commenced. Their star bowler, Mujeeb Rahman, was ruled out of the game and Marcus Stoinis walked in as his replacement.
The Kings got off to a decent start with their openers, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle, adding 36 runs for the first wicket. The course of the game changed in just one over. Umesh Yadav, who had proved to be the nemesis for KXIP in Bengaluru earlier this season, came back to haunt them again. Yadav dismissed both the openers in the fifth over of the game to put RCB right at the top in the game.
In the very next over, Mohammad Siraj dismissed Karun Nair to pile on the agony for the hosts. The story pretty much continued on the same lines as the wickets kept tumbling. The RCB bowlers, surprisingly, made merry on the day and kept picking up wickets at regular intervals. The hosts eventually bundled out for 88 in 15.1 overs with Umesh finishing with 3/23 to his name.
In the run chase, the Royal Challengers Bangalore fans were delighted to see skipper Virat Kohli open the innings. Kohli, along with Parthiv Patel, stitched an unbeaten stand to win the game for the visitors. While Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 48 off 28 deliveries, Parthiv played a sublime unbeaten 40 off 22 balls to see the Royal Challengers Bangalore register a clinical 10 wicket win.
