Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly, known for his openness, frankness and brilliant cricket analysis is now getting trolled for a suggestion he made which didn’t go down well at all in the cricketing community as far as the fans are concerned. Dada, the President of cricket association of Bengal gave a suggestion that would allegedly solve India’s middle order woes.
Team India’s no.4 position has been a topic of debate for quite a few days now. Finding the right man for that spot has been tough. Kohli thought Rayudu could do the job but unfortunately, Rayudu hasn’t been able to repay the trust and has performed quite badly. It was reported that Dhoni could be the replacement but his invaluable contributions down the batting order left him out of the race. This now leaves open the spot which maybe will be tried by Virat Kohli himself if the need arises, in his own words.
Sourav Ganguly had earlier suggested that Ajinkya Rahane is the solution for the problem but now has gotten behind the back of Cheteshwar Pujara as the replacement in the no.4 position. Ganguly said thus in his chat with India TV, “Cheteshwar Pujara should be India’s no.4 in ODIs. His fielding might be a bit weak. But he is a very good batsman. I know people will be shocked by my claim but if you want a quality batsman, who is better than the options India has tried off late, I think Pujara is the best choice”.
“I believe Pujara has the capability to perform the role that Rahul Dravid used to do for India in ODIs. But this would have been my personal decision and I know a lot of people won’t agree with me on this. Sometimes you need solidity in one day cricket and Pujara provides you with that in ample measure. Especially, when your top 3 batsmen are so capable and are scoring a mountain of runs”, Ganguly added.
Everyone was taken back by Ganguly’s comments just as he had anticipated and the shocked fans have expressed their disapproval on Twitter.
It's kind of funny that a country like India with huge batting talents couldn't find a proper number 4 for their ODI team.
Ganguly recommendeds Pujara now. Lmao.

Hope Ganguly gets Pujara in Delhi Capitals so he can show everyone he’s ok to bat well at no 4 in the short format too https://t.co/lwxRYGxrsK
