Twitter Reactions: Sri Lanka stun visitors in the 1st T20I

Sri Lanka won the series opener at Pune by five wickets with 2 overs to spare. This was a huge morale booster for the Sri Lankan team considering this was a strong Indian side and SL missing their star players.

Earlier Sri Lanka won the toss and put the Indians to bat. The wicket was more on the greener side as Indian batsmen failed to do anything special and ended up for a paltry 101. Ashwin played as a lone warrior with 31* (24). It also became the first time, that a No.9 top scored for India in T20Is. The Sri Lankan bowlers always kept the Indian bowlers at their toes and didn’t allow them to accelerate.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka too didn’t begin quite well as Nehra sent both the openers back. However, Kapugedera and Chandimal somehow revived the Lankan innings. There was some furore in the end when both got out, but Siriwardana ensured there were no further hiccups and won it for Sri Lanka in style.

The Sri Lankan pacer Kasun Rajitha won the man of the match for exceptional figures of 3/29 as Sri Lanka went on to lead the series with 1-0 and 2 matches to go.

Twitter kept everyone entertained throughout the whole match. Starting from lauding Ashwin and Nehra to trolling Pandya and Dickwella, then trolling Indian batsmen to lauding the Indian spinners.
