Twitter Reactions: Sunil Narine goes berserk with the bat against Royal Challengers Bangalore
The Trinidad-born cricketer played his whirlwind innings at a colossal strike rate of 317.65 leaving the whole Chinnaswamy crowd in awe.
Sunil Narine justified the role of a pinch hitter in the best way possible as the West Indian manhandled the RCB bowling attack with ease. Narine has been a success story with the bat in this year’s IPL but this has been his best innings by far. The spiky haired left-hander went berserk with the willow in his hand as he stormed to a 15 ball 50 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore today.
Stepping onto the field to chase a target of 158 runs Sunil Narine looked in much of a hurry. The player used to play the role of a night watchman cum pinch hitter wasted no time in unleashing himself at the bowlers as he destroyed fellow countryman Samuel Badree to start with. The 28-year-old then took on his carnage to the other bowlers as well bringing up a lightning quick 50 off just 15 balls. Narine’s knock entered the record books as the joint fastest 50 along with the one scored by Yusuf Pathan also in KKR colors against SRH in 2014.
Chris Lynn soon joined the party along with Narine which turned into an absolute destruction of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. The opening duo brought up the team’s hundred in just 6 overs, a feat achieved by none except the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Sunil Narine was finally picked up by Aniket Choudhary as he edged one back to the keeper but not before laying down the platform for the Kolkata Knight Riders for an easy win.
Narine who is renowned all over the world for his magic with the ball once again proved his worth with the bat and in style. The Trinidad-born cricketer played his whirlwind innings at a colossal strike rate of 317.65 leaving the whole Chinnaswamy crowd in awe. Here is how Twitter reacted to the Sunil Narine show.
