In the opening match of the T10 League, the Sindhis were blown away by the Rajputs courtesy of a blistering knock from Mohammad Shahzad. However, they managed to make a strong comeback, beating defending champions Kerala Knights by nine wickets. On the other hand, the Knights slumped to a defeat after their eight-wicket victory against Pakhtoons.
Tambe destroys Kerala
The first over the match pushed Kerala Knights on the backfoot. After winning the toss and electing to field first, Sindhis got off to a superlative start as leg-spin bowler Pravin Tambe picked the bones out of them with four wickets, which also included a hat-trick. Chris Gayle, skipper Eoin Morgan, Kieron Pollard and Fabian Allen couldn’t gauge Tambe’s guile and trajectory.
Tambe went up to pick up a five-wicket haul as he cleaned up Kieron Pollard in his second over. Isuru Udana nipped out Paul Stirling and reduced the Knights to 21/6 in 3.1 overs. Thereafter, Wayne Parnell played a quick-fire knock of 59 runs from 24 balls with seven boundaries and four sixes to lift Kerala to 103. Sohail Tanvir also contributed with 23 runs from 14 balls.
A one-sided chase
The run-chase turned out to be a doddle for Sindhis as they chased the target down with 14 balls to spare. Captain Shane Watson and Anton Devcich opened the batting and the duo cobbled together 80 runs from 33 balls to take the sting out of Kerala’s bowlers. Devcich was the aggressor in the stand and he scored 49 runs from 20 balls with four boundaries and as many sixes.
Nepal leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane got rid of Devcich to break the stand. Mohammad Naveed also had the chance to dismiss Watson, but he grassed it owing to a no-ball. Watson eventually went on to score 50 runs from 24 balls and guided his team over the line without any hiccup. Samiullah Shenwari, who came in after Devcich’s dismissal, didn’t have to do much.

5/15 from a couple of overs from a 47 year old leggie in a T10 format just reiterates the wonderful saying, "Age is just a number".
Well bowled Pravin Tambe, you yet have many more wickets left in your kitty. #T10League #KhadoosArmy

I think #T10League would be more entertaining if @T10League management copy a rule of double wicket in which on each wicket bating side lose 5/7 runs then it should be a balancing game for both ball/bat.
Today 2 hattricks & look every 1 enjoying.@ICC @ESPNcricinfo @SonyTV— Media War (@misbahullahawan) November 22, 2018
