Most of the teams have begun their preparations for World Cup 2019. Bangladesh has begun the build-up to the mega event with the tri-series against Windies and Ireland. It was an excellent outing for the Bangla Tigers and they’ve registered one of the most handsome victories possible. Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar batted brilliantly on the night. The openers did most of the scoring for Bangladesh.
With the ball, it was the captain Mashrafe Mortaza who was the best for his team. He led from the front by picking up three wickets and put his team ahead in the race. Bangladesh ticked a lot of boxes in this match and beating a team like Windies, who were terrific in the last game against Ireland and that would give them a lot of confidence going ahead.
Shai Hope is the man, once again, for Windies
In the last few months, Shai Hope has been one of the most consistent performers for Windies. He scored 170 runs in the last game against Ireland and it was no different this time either. Hope carried the burden of the entire innings almost single-handedly in Dublin. The batting team has tinkered around with the playing eleven and batting in this game in order to give all the players a chance. Sunil Ambris, the other opener, scored 38 runs before he got out.
While Darren Bravo failed to make an impact, Roston Chase registered his maiden ODI fifty and played the perfect partner for Hope. The wicketkeeper-batsman went on to register his sixth ODI century, fourth in the last eight games and the second consecutive one. But both these batsmen got out within the 45th over and there weren’t any notable performances from the other batsmen. On a good batting surface, Windies could only get to 261/9 in 50 overs.
Tamim Iqbal, Sarkar, Shakib steer Bangladesh to a win
The Bangladesh openers were exceptional in this encounter. They added 144 runs for the opening wicket before Soumya Sarkar was dismissed for 73 runs. Tamim Iqbal also couldn’t make the best utilisation of his start and failed to get to the triple digits. The left-hander got out for 80 runs which was quite disappointing.
However, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahman were too good to take the team through. While the left-hander was unbeaten on 61, Mushfiqur scored 32 runs as their team won the match by 8 wickets. The Bangladesh fans were delighted after this win and were all over Twitter expressing their joy. They hoped that the team continues to play this way heading into the World Cup.

Would have liked to see Mithun promoted to finish off the game; still believe there are better options than him to play in the important #5 spot but would be glad if he proves me wrong & goes on to score big in the #CWC19. #CWC #WIvBAN #BANvWI #BANvWIN #RiseOfTheTigers #Tigers🇧🇩
