Australia's winning margin is greater than the runs South Africa scored in the game.

After about two years gap, David Warner and Steve Smith were back in Cape Town – the same place where they lost it all. It was a chance at redemption for both of them and Australia had salvage to their pride. The series was levelled at 1-1 heading into this match. The Kangaroos entered into this game after conceding an unlikely victory to the opposition in the 2nd T20I. And under such a pressure situation, the likes of Warner, Aaron Finch, Mitchell Starc and Ashton Agar came up with brilliant performances.
They humbled the home team in this critical encounter as they registered a huge 97-run win. By losing this match as well, South Africa extended their losing streak. For about 12 months now, the Proteas are winless in a series across formats. Moreover, this game saw their second-lowest T20I total and the second-biggest defeat in terms of runs.
Furthermore, their 96 runs is the lowest total at Newlands in T20Is. Also, South Africa has never won a T20I series against the Aussies while playing at home.
David Warner sheds the excess sandpaper baggage with a brilliant 57
Australia was asked to bat first in this match and they wouldn’t complain after watching their openers play. In only 11.3 overs, the duo of David Warner and Aaron Finch added 120 runs. Even though David Warner was carrying a lot of baggage with the sandpaper incident and an uncharacteristic knock in the last match, he scored 57 off only 37. In the same number of balls, Finch scored 55. Although there was a slight hiccup in the middle order, Steve Smith came up with a 15-ball 30 batting at five as Australia got to 193/5.
This has been a high-scoring series and thus some tough competition in the chase was expected. However, in the matter of just a few overs, the outcome of the game could be sensed. Just four batsmen touched the double figures with Rassie van der Dussen finishing as the highest scorer with 24 runs. From 57/2, the side collapsed to 87/7 and was bowled out for only 96 runs. Mitchell Starc and Ashton Agar picked up three wickets each.
Here is how Twitterati reacted after Australia’s win:

What did vd Dussen do the whole summer?
As for Faf to be dropped for poor performance and recalled 2 weeks later without improving his bad run is sheer desperation #SAvAUS— ThaMot (@WackyThot) February 27, 2020
Why is CSA and Boutcher giving debut to 30 something year olds? It’s like they’re rewarding their undeserving friends with caps. #SAvAUS

The track was known to slow and turn. Aussies batted fast for the same reason. Why did SA choose to bowl first?#SAvAUS

Mitchell Starc is one of the best all format bowlers currently in the world, maybe he's better than Cummins overall I would say at this stage. #SAvAUS

Got to feel for Quinton de Kock. #Proteas just keep putting too much stress on one player.
It was Kallis once, de Villiers next and now QDK. Luckily for the former two, there were astute skippers (Smith & Faf) ready to share responsibility. QDK has none. #SAvAUS #ProteaFire

Great result for the Aussies in the T20 series against South Africa. Not easy to go over there and win in a hostile environment, let alone completely dominate in two of the three games. #SAvAUS

Another drubbing for SA is an indictment of where the side is. Aus look good at T20 for once. #SAvAus
