Indian skipper MS Dhoni might have not looked at the peak of his form with the bat or as skipper but he certainly hasn’t lost his skills behind the wickets. The 3rd ODI against Australia at the MCG was once again drifting towards the hosts and that is when he worked his magic to get his team back into the game.

After getting through the openers, India once again faced the tough Australian middle-order as George Bailey and Glenn Maxwell took the charge and were running away with the game Dhoni brought in Jadeja to try and maneuver the proceedings. The ball was doing a bit for the left-arm spinner and it drifted away from Bailey enough to beat the outside edge of his bat. The skipper inside a second not only collected the ball but also dislodged the wickets before the batsman got his feet back into the crease.

A couple of overs later Maxwell and his new partner Mitchell Marsh challenged Indian pacer Umesh Yadav’s arm and tried to push for an extra run. He picked up and released the ball towards the keepers end and Dhoni maintained himself like the ball would take time to come as Marsh eased towards the end and once again showed quick work to get the bails off before the batsman could make his way back.

The two wickets opened up the game for the team and exposed the Australian lower middle-order which had until then been shielded with some good batting by the top and middle order.
