Devendra Bishoo was the star of the fourth day in the historic first day-night Test in Asia. Pakistan looked to be cruising towards a thumping win. West Indies leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo had other plans, though. He knocked down Pakistan singlehandedly to suddenly see West Indies in the hunt on the day. The leggie bagged 8/49 to restrict them to 123 in the second innings.
His efforts meant West Indies needing 346 runs to win the Test. The kind of aggression West Indian batsmen can show will only threaten the ‘home’ side. They lost both their openers cheaply though. Kraigg Brathwaite was cleaned by Mohammad Amir on 6. Leon Johnson looked good for his 47 before Amir came back to hunt down his second victim. The game now stands evenly poised with the two seniormost batters at the crease.
Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels will have a herculean task to accomplish on the final day. West Indies are placed at 95/2 at the end of day’s play. They need 251 more runs to win the Test. Pakistan will be hoping for Yasir Shah to come good after seeing Bishoo strike so well. Earlier in the day, Yasir Shah became the joint second fastest bowler to reach 100 wickets in Test cricket.
Yasir Shah’s 5th wicket in the match completed his century of Test wickets. He dismissed Miguel Cummins to reach the coveted milestone. He took 17 Tests to reach the coveted milestone – one short of the world record. Shah returned with figures of 5/121 in the West Indies first innings. They ended up with 357 runs in response to Pakistan’s 579/3 decl. in the first innings.

The match now stands at a very interesting stage with both teams being equally likely to win the match. Yasir Shah will be the trump card for Pakistan if they wish to seal the game. For the West Indies, it is the unpredictability factor that can work for them.
