Deepak Chahar, the young Indian pacer emerged as the star in the last T20I against Bangladesh. He bowled a brilliant spell during the series decider and was simply unplayable. The 27-year-old stole the spotlight with his bowling as he took a sensational six-wicket haul. But, it was BCCI, who made a statistical mistake in their post on social media. And, after that Twitter was busy correcting the Indian cricket board.
Coming to the batting, fifties coming from the bat of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer helped the host to post a competitive total of 174 runs at loss of five wickets in 20 overs. And, in reply to it, a commendable effort from Mohammad Naim (81 off 48 balls) went vain as the whole Bangladesh team got dismissed at 144 in 19.4 overs.
Deepak Chahar stole all the spotlight in 3rd T20I against Bangladesh
At one point, the visitors were ahead of Team India when Mohammad Mithun and Mohammad Naim stitched a partnership of 98 runs. However, the game changed when Deepak Chahar was introduced into the attack followed by Shivam Dube, who castled five wickets between 12 to 19 overs.
Deepak Chahar registered brilliant bowling figures of 3.2-0-7-6 along with a hat-trick. He was also given the Man of the Match for his inevitable contribution in Nagpur. In order to appreciate the young Indian bowler, BCCI took to their Twitter handle and shared Indian bowler’s picture and wrote, “.@deepak_chahar9 today became the first Indian to pick up a hat-trick in T20Is.”

And that was the moment when BCCI committed a statistical error as their post claimed that Deepak Chahar is the first Indian cricketer to take a hat-trick in T20Is. Later on, the close followers of the game were very quick to correct the tweet.
Before Chahar, it was the left-arm spinner, Ekta Bisht from Uttarakhand (India), who had already taken a hat-trick in T20Is and was the first international woman cricketer to do so. She achieved this milestone back in 2012 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 when she castled out the lower order of Sri Lanka.
Here is how Twitter corrected BCCI
Incorrect.
Ekta Bisht.
3/16 vs Sri Lanka in 2012.
First Indian to take a hat-trick in T20s. https://t.co/7TxmKegibQ— Suprita Das (@suprita2009) November 10, 2019
Correction – Deepak Chahar is the first Indian 'male' cricketer to take a hat-trick in T20I.
Ekta Bisht is the first Indian cricketer to take a hat-trick in T20I.

Let’s correct this.
Deepak Chahar is the first Indian to take a hat-trick in Men’s T20Is.
Ekta Bisht is the first Indian (Man/Woman) to take a hat-trick in T20Is (2012).
(P.S. Ekta Bisht holds an Indian passport) https://t.co/jXkTyKw9NB

Second hattrick by an Indian. Is the first Indian (man) to take it.
Ekta Bisht (in 2012) has already taken a hattrick in T20Is for India. https://t.co/OFxCH4hEGx

Pretty stupid from BCCI, this. Ekta Bisht had done it for India 7 years ago! And she is an Indian too!
