Twitter ridicules Rohit Sharma after being ignored by Ravi Ashwin

Team India is dominating the ongoing Adelaide Test at the moment. They are all over Australia thanks to some penetrative bowling by the pace trio and the off-spinner Ravi Ashwin. Chasing the target of 323 runs, the hosts have lost their top three batsmen and Shaun Marsh and Peter Handscomb are fighting it out with no easy runs on offer. They will have to bat really well now to get close to the target or even threaten the opposition.

Amidst the serious action in the middle, a funny incident took place at the fag end of the second session. Ravi Ashwin picked Aaron Finch’s wicket thanks to the rough created outside the right-hander’s off stump. Finch prodded forward in defence as the ball bounced to brush his pads and the gloves and settled in Rishabh Pant‘s hands.

Well! There is nothing funny in this. The incident took place actually after the end of the over. Ashwin was walking back to his fielding position after bowling a fantastic over and this is when Rohit Sharma came to him to congratulate his teammate.

But at the same time, Ravi Ashwin was having a discussion with someone else about his bowling or field setting maybe. Meanwhile, in the anticipation that the off-spinner will respond, walked with him by offering a handshake appreciating his exceptional over. But Ashwin, to everyone’s surprise, never realised that India’s limited-overs vice-captain is expecting for him to respond.

Eventually, Rohit left by just patting him back to leave the fans in splits. The video of the same has quickly gone viral and even the social media gimmicks are rolling poor Rohit. He was also at the receiving end for playing an atrocious shot after scoring 37 runs in the first innings and then could muster only one run in the second essay getting out to Nathan Lyon on both the occasions.
