Ravi Shastri has been constantly under the scanner of the Indian fans ever since he has replaced Anil Kumble as India’s head coach. While he always turns a deaf eye to all the criticism and trolls over him on social media, the fans have continued to pamper him. Even after India’s sensational victory over Australia in the first Test in Adelaide, Shastri is trending more and this time the man himself is responsible as he made a hilarious comment about the match which went down the wire.
When the ninth wicket fell, Australia still needed 74 runs to win. The visitors were already frustrated with the lower-order resistance and must’ve thought Josh Hazlewood will be a walking wicket for them. But that wasn’t the case. There was more toil in store for them as the last wicket fought bravely to the hilt and brought the equation down to 32 runs for the unlikely victory.
Before the wicket fell, the Indian shoulders were dropping and even the bowlers were visibly getting tired. And with the runs getting less with every passing over, the margin for error for the bowlers even lesser. The tension was increasing only for Ravi Ashwin to strike at the perfect moment to start the celebration in the Indian camp.
Shastri admits fear of losing
Ravi Shastri, however, while speaking to Sony after the game, admitted that anything could’ve happened had the wicket not fallen. He aptly described the situation in the Indian dressing room in his hilarious style saying, “Sach bole to Goti muh mein aa gaye the (To be honest, we almost had balls in our mouth),” he said to leave everyone in the studio back home in splits.
The funny statement has also left the social media in splits as the Indian fans have once again started trolling Ravi Shastri. For a change though this time no one is taking a dig on his position of head coach.

Ravi Shastri just dropped the quote of his career. And most media houses might not even be able to cover it.
