Prithvi Shaw has been the talk of the town ever since he has won the U19 Cricket World Cup for India in January this year. His batting style has hogged all the limelight more than his captaincy as it resembles exactly Sachin Tendulkar in his teenage. Even Ian Bishop had exclaimed that his front foot drive is like the Little Master during the showpiece event in New Zealand. However, even Twitterati has started comparing Shaw with the legendary Indian cricketer after his recent exploits in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shaw is currently playing for Delhi Daredevils and is having a gala time at the top of the order while opening the innings. The youngster has played a couple of wonderful knocks with proper cricketing shots which has left the experts and analysts in awe of him. So far he has piled up 140 runs in 4 innings at an amazing strike-rate of 166.67 and has smashed 17 fours and 6 sixes.
Shaw – the next Tendulkar?
Prithvi Shaw is a serious talent and the word is around that he should soon make it to the Indian team. Many are already touting him as the star of the next generation after Virat Kohli. His high back lift is much like Brian Lara while his cover driving is similar to Kohli. But the other trademark cricketing shots come straight from the dictionary of none other than Sachin Tendulkar as he looks so balanced while batting. His striking has been a treat so far for the spectators and no wonder they have started comparing him with the God of Cricket for his batting style.
Twitterati was ecstatic last night when Shaw blazed his way to 47 off just 25 balls as he played some breathtaking shots which Sachin used to play in the 90s. While many felt that the next Sachin is in the making, few also believed that he is the mix of Sachin and Vinod Kambli.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
#SelectDugout The day Tendulkar retired, I said goodbye to my extended childhood. Watching Prithvi Shaw seems to be reviving it again @StarSportsIndia #DDvRR

Dear twitter, remind me in 2 years,
"When I watch @PrithviShaw's batting style, I see @sachin_rt "
(talking strictly about the batting style, specially the pull shot and cover drive)@DelhiDaredevils @IPL @StarSportsIndia

If you believe me @PrithviShaw is true heir to legacy of @sachin_rt to take it to new height for Team India. What make him unique and qualified is the simplicity that Tendulkar had on 22 yards. #DDvRR— प्रभाकर (@ddev42) May 2, 2018
@PrithviShaw looks to me the mix of @sachin_rt and @vinodkambli349 .. Humble like Sachin and wristy, powerful & stylish like Kambli… All the Best.. Keep working Hard…
