Twitterati infuriated with a CSK post involving Sachin Tendulkar and Suresh Raina

In India where people are crazy about the game of cricket, they tend to cross all the barriers to show their love and support towards the sport and those playing this sport. Getting recognition next to a religion, Cricket in India unites a billion people to pray for a common cause. A recent tweet from the Chennai Super Kings team, irked several fans as it carried a seemingly inappropriate caption. As many conceived it as a tweet that was directed to draw a comparison between Sachin Tendulkar and Suresh Raina.

Background to the picture

The tweet came a day after CSK vs MI game was played at the MCA Stadium in Pune. It was an image of CSK’s Suresh Raina and Mumbai Indians mentor Sachin Tendulkar, who were making their way back to their respective dressing rooms. What didn’t go down well with the fans was the caption that Chennai used. They wrote, “Ramesh and Suresh #whistlepodu”.

This sounded awful to many Sachin followers, who treated this as a hint of disrespect towards the master. Many believed that Tendulkar, who is reckoned as the ‘God of Indian Cricket’, deserved better respect as one of the pioneers to have ever played the game. What perturbed the fans was the comparison that they felt was attempted there between the two men captured together in the pic. 

It is a widely known the fact that Sachin’s late father Ramesh Tendulkar, for whom his son had immense respect, was a special figure in his life. And fans couldn’t tolerate this uncanny tweet from one of the most loved IPL franchises in the country as they demanded them to immediately delete the tweet.
