The fourth Test match England and India is in progress currently and the visitors have rocked the opposition early with two wickets. Joe Root was quite happy after winning the toss to bat first but he wouldn’t have hoped to be two down so early. Despite so much criticism, the selectors decided to give another chance to Keaton Jennings. But the left-hander was dismissed early once again only to irk the fans who demanded to leave him out after the last game.

Alastair Cook and Jennings were offered with the best batting conditions and the pitch in the series so far. England were also lucky to win the toss and the struggling openers were expected to give the team a good start final. But India’s new ball bowlers used the early help from the pitch beautifully and kept them on the tenterhooks. Moreover, Jennings didn’t look confident again and his footwork was nowhere.

Bumrah hurries Jennings

Jasprit Bumrah has pace and he was hurrying Jennings during his short stay in the middle. The angle across the left-hander was making him leave the balls. But the bowler changed his mind in the fifth over of the innings and brought one back in. The left-handed batter left the ball in assurance thinking that it will go away. However, it was not to be and it came back a bit and hit him on the back.

Jennings was surprised by the movement and took his front leg away only to for the ball to hit his back leg. He was caught plumb in front of the stumps and his position looked so ugly. The dismissal proved that he is not up for quality international cricket and needs a serious look at his technique.

Twitterati was literally annoyed with the way he got out and lashed out at him. They felt that it was only a matter of a few overs upfront after which it would’ve been much easier to bat. Instead, he bagged a four-ball duck and is now left with only the second innings of this game to revive his career.
