The first Test between Australia and India is all set to begin on Thursday at the Adelaide Oval. While the hosts have announced their playing XI. Team India has stuck to their norm of naming the 12-man group ahead of the Test match. Both the teams have taken some surprising calls with Australia leaving out one of their vice-captains Mitchell Marsh and the visitors have once again not picked Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Ravi Ashwin is the lone spinner in the line-up despite the fact that Ravindra Jadeja was the one who performed above expectations in the only opportunity he got in England. Prithvi Shaw’s injury has also paved the way for Murali Vijay to make a comeback and he has warmed up nicely with a century in the second innings. India’s three-pronged pace attack comprises of Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.
The absence of Bhuvi and Kuldeep
With the pace trio doing extremely well this year in the absence of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, they were expected to be retained. Though leaving a player like Bhuvi who can swing the ball both ways and show some resistance with the bat down the order is a brave call which has left the fans surprised and perplexed at the same time.
Also, Kuldeep Yadav was termed to be the danger man for the home side who is not even in the 12-man squad with the team management deciding to go with only one spinner. The chinaman bowler made his Test debut against Australia in the fourth and deciding Test match in Dharamsala last year and had made an immediate impact.
Rohit Sharma, however, is the part of the 12 that was announced earlier today with Hanuma Vihari also present. Many of the fans are fuming with Rohit’s inclusion as they feel the team is still not sure about Vihari who has done so well in the limited opportunities. It will be interesting to see who gets a chance to feature in the series opener in Adelaide on Thursday.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to India’s 12-man squad:

@klrahul11 को team India's 12 में तो लेना भी नहीं चाहिए था उसकी जगह @BhuviOfficial को मौका मिलना चाहिए लेकिन @ImRo45 को टीम में लेकर बहुत अच्छा किया👌 अब #RohitSharma को @mvj888 के साथ ओपन करना चाहिए। @imVkohli अगर तुम सही में match and सीरीज जितने गए हो तो ये दोनों ओपन करे।

If KL Rahul is getting chances to prove himself than why not Rohit Sharma ??
I genuinely feel, that Rohit Sharma should get chances in all 4 games and after that someone can comment on his performance.— Arjun Yadav (@M_Arjun_yadav) December 5, 2018
well this is kinda funny, they're unsure of vihari who has performed so well that they had to include rohit who has absolutely done nothing in whites to deserve it but they're so sure of ashwin that they don't even include kuldeep or jadeja despite the fact that ashwin hasn't.

I think Parthiv Patel is better than Rishab pant.he truely better with glove. Rishab has a long journey ahead. Please give a chance to Patel.

Why not Jadeja in place of Ashwin? Seems that Ashwin has a reserved place in side.

What is the reason for not getting Jadeja @imjadeja humesa gandi politcs q krti h #Bcci aur q team me itni politcs hoti hai.. 😡😡😡
— Rohit Sharma (@Rohit_Sharma999) December 5, 2018
No bhuneshwar Kumar,no Umesh yadav,no kuldeep yadav India might loss with this combination.
R Ashwin average is not good enough in Australia infact R Jadeja is better option due to his batting.

Where is bhuvaneshwar kumar and kuldeep yadav. They both are good in aussie conditions especially bhuvaneshwar kumar

No Kuldeep ? 🤧 he could hv been that xfactor, Ash was ineffective in all overseas series n the practice match. Moreover Kuldeep is a more confident bowler today n cud hv made that difference @imVkohli #AUSvIND

How can you drop Jadeja after his performance in the last test against ENG. Don't know why Ashwin and Kuldeep are given preference over him in test cricket, do they even remember that Jaddu was No.1 in the ICC ranking before he was dropped
