It was all drama at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday. The Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) played out one of the most amazing finals in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Men in Yellow looked certain to win the trophy when the last over began. Shane Watson was on strike and Lasith Malinga was entrusted with the responsibility.

Coming round the wicket, he conceded only four runs off the first three balls to bring the equation down to five off the last three. However, the real drama was yet to unfold of the fourth delivery. Watson squeezed a wide yorker to deep point and it should’ve been an easy two. But for some weird reason, the Australian didn’t want it and Ravindra Jadeja also stopped looking at his partner’s response.

But finally, with a half yes in the mind, Watto ran only to find himself well short of the crease. His dismissal turned the game on its head and eventually, Mumbai managed to win the match by 1 run.

No replay from Watson’s end

Now, generally, when there is a mix-up and a run-out, multiple replays are shown to let the spectators know exactly what happened at both the ends. But strangely, only the dismissal replay was shown and still, there is no replay was available to know what actually happened at the other end and why Shane Watson hesitated in taking the second run.

The way he had placed the ball, it was an easy two and there should never have been a run-out situation. Was Watson unfit? Why didn’t he want two when it was easily possible? Why wasn’t the replay from Watson’s end showed? All these and a lot of questions are being asked on social media at the moment.

While one has to give the credit to the Mumbai Indians for keeping their nerves, this doubt automatically comes into the mind while watching the last over of the match.
