A stupendous all-around effort from Mahmudullah led Bangladesh saw the host team get hammered in the most obnoxious manner possible at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Bangladesh managed to outclass the opposition in all three aspects of the game which pretty much reflects on the scoreline. With this win, all three teams in the Nidahas Trophy stand with a win each, after the completion of the first leg.
Sri Lankan team started as favourites against the Tigers as they posted a mammoth total of 214 runs with a superlative batting effort from inform batsman Kusal Perera who played some scintillating shots to score a blistering half-century. He was well supported by his counterpart Kusal Mendis who scored 57 runs off just 30 balls laden with two boundaries and five mighty sixes.
Chasing 214, it was important for Bangladesh to have a decent start and one will have to say that Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das managed to do that quite perfectly. The duo added 74 runs in mere 5.5 overs which helped them get ahead in the game. However, it was the experienced campaigner Mushfiqur Rahim, who guided Bangladesh to a memorable victory scoring 72 runs off just 35 deliveries at an astonishing strike rate of 205.71.
Mushfiqur was adjudged Man of the Match for his match-winning effort. The 30-year-old struck 4 sixes and 5 boundaries in a display of high-quality batting under pressure. However, the best moment of the game came right at the end when Rahim struck the ball towards midwicket and scored the winning runs.
Rahim couldn’t control his excitement and rejoiced the victory with a unique celebration. He looked straight into the eye of the bowler Thisara Perera and then pulled-off a hilarious snake dance routine facing towards the Bangladeshi dugout.
However, the fans across the globe enjoyed Rahim’s snake dance and they didn’t miss the opportunity to troll him for that on Twitter.

Spare a thought for Mushfiqur Rahim. Dude's been mentally scarred ever since his premature ejaculation at WT20 cost Bangladesh dearly. No wonder dominating a similar situation makes him do all that childish celebrations. Also, well played. Brilliant bit of batting. #SLvBAN
