Twitterati react to yet another Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma run out

Virat was run out on 36 while Rohit is marching towards his hundred.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been in sublime form across formats. He is a vital cog in the lineup and oppositions fret his stay out in the middle. In the series against South Africa, Kohli is in terrific form and has amassed huge piles of runs. He also had scored two centuries and averages a mammoth 143 in the series.

In the fifth ODI against the Proteas, Virat looked all set for another big score. He was going along well and built a wonderful partnership with Rohit Sharma. The opener who struggled in the majority of this tour finally found some good touch with the bat. This duo yet again was expected to take India to a massive total. However, that was not the case.

Run out is a suicide

There is always a question of uncertainty as far as running is concerned with Virat and Rohit in the middle. This pair is very sceptical about the running and opposition always look to make the most of it. It is a very common scene in Indian cricket to see this pair get off to a start and then get run out. And it was no different in today’s game.

Kohli got run out trying to sneak in a difficult single. All it took is a simple underarm direct hit from JP Duminy to get the dangerous man out. Interestingly, this is the 7th time this pair is involved in a run-out. The Indian skipper got run out five times so far when this pair is batting while Sharma got out twice.

Virat was seen fuming back to the dressing room after he was run out; as he absolutely hates to give away his wicket. He was looking all set for another big score in this game before he got out. Twitterati wasn’t impressed with Virat’s dismissal and slammed Rohit for the poor call.
