The star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was dismissed in the bizarre fashion in the ongoing second Test against South Africa. He didn’t ground his bat while coming back to his crease as Vernon Philander affected a direct-hit from mid-off. The replays suggested that his legs and bat both were in the air despite crossing the line. The youngster attracted the unwanted criticism after the dismissal as the wicket stalled India’s progress in the Test match big time. However, Twitter has bashed Sanjay Manjrekar as he analysed Pandya’s attitude as arrogance after the run-out.
As it turned out, the visitors were under immense pressure after the wicket and it was the partnership between Virat Kohli and R Ashwin which took India close to the total of South Africa. In case the all-rounder would’ve grounded his bat, they might well have taken the lead which was crucial from the Indian perspective.
Manjrekar trolled and bashed yet again
Sanjay Manjrekar who is currently covering the series as the commentator took to Twitter soon after the dismissal and felt that this was a harsh lesson for the upcoming all-rounder of India. He also termed Hardik’s confidence as arrogance in his tweet which read, “Early lesson for Hardik Pandya that this game will come to bite you back if you let confidence become arrogance.”
While his analysis was absolutely spot on as Pandya was a little lazy to ground his bat which are the basics of cricket, the word ‘arrogance’ didn’t go down well with the Indian fans. They felt the former Indian cricketer was being too critical of Pandya only after one such mistake. Few even went on troll him for always over analysing the players and pointing out the mistakes of non-Mumbaikar players mostly. Many also made him remembered that the few legendary cricketers have made the same mistake in the past and it was unfair on the youngster.
All said and done, his mistake was a huge turning point in the match but Sanjay Manjrekar once again was roasted on Twitter.
Here’s what he tweeted:
Early lesson for Hardik Pandya that this game will come to bite you back if you let confidence become arrogance.

You should probably provide that advice to your buddy, Mr. Talent by the way….does any non-mumbaikar get spared by you? Irony of it all is you are no different from the fundamentalists you criticize..

Lessons for Sanjay….don’t enter commentary box when Indian team is batting
— Kailash Wagh ?? (@kailashwg) January 15, 2018
Dude seriously !! So every good player should behave exactly the same way. Is there no place for some flamboyance anymore ? Do we have to bring everyone down ? Let him be, it was a mistake, it happens.
