Twitterati sends its best wishes to the birthday boy Suresh Raina

His international record might never reflect upon how brilliant a cricketer he is, but Suresh Raina will definitely go down as one of the best. An innocuous blend of class and aggression, the southpaw went on to achieve stratospheric heights in the shortest format of the game, especially in the IPL.

And when it mattered the most during the 2011 ICC World Cup, Raina played a couple of priceless knocks without which, India’s wait for the coveted trophy might’ve prolonged. He did play some crucial knocks throughout his International career, but somewhere down the line, many believe he never did justice to his talent.

Talk about IPL’s meteoric rise over the last decade and Raina’s name would pop-up a million times. Such has been the impact he’s had over the course of time, helping Chennai Super Kings one of the greatest clubs in sporting history with 2 IPL trophies and as many Champions League titles.

Despite all the struggles he has had over the last few years, Raina will always remain as one of the most loved cricketers in India, if not, across the globe. Known to be one of the coolest and nicest guys to be around in the dressing room, Raina always maintained a cordial relationship with his seniors and juniors.

Go to Chennai and say “Raina belongs to Uttar Pradesh”, you might as well get killed! Such is the fan base he has accumulated with his record-breaking, astronomic and stellar performances over the last ten seasons. Although he represented the Gujarat Lions in the previous two editions, Raina will always be remembered in the yellow jersey.

After failing to clear the much-hyped about Yo-Yo Test in recent times, Raina, alongside his long-term teammate Yuvraj Singh, have been struggling hard to get their fitness levels up to the required mark.
