After celebrating Ben Stokes’ dismissal in the first innings of the Lord’s Test earned him a one-Test ban Kagiso Rabada, the South African pacer was once again among the talks after getting Stokes out in the 2nd innings and celebrating it in silence.

Rabada received a one-match ban from the ICC after he collected 4 demerit points over the last 24-month period. He was found guilty of breaching article 2.1.7 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Player and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an International Match”.

Rabada collected 1 demerit point for using foul language, which was caught on stump mic after he bounced out Stokes. During the 4th ODI game in the home series in January against Sri Lanka, the 22-year-old was charged with 3 demerit points and also was fined 50% of his match fee.

On Sunday, England resumed day 4 at 119/1 and lost 7 wickets in the morning session for just 63 runs as the South African bowlers utilised the pitch which offered uneven bounce. Rabada picked up two of the 7 wickets that fell in the morning session with his first prey was Stokes when he trapped him in front.

Soon after the dismissal, South Africa’s stand-in captain Dean Elgar put his hand on Rabada’s mouth in a light moment ensuring his pacer doesn’t bag any more demerit points while Rabada also placed a finger on his lips which would’ve chuckled the viewers. Twitterati enjoyed the moment as Elgar and Rabada silently delivered the message.
