Shikhar Dhawan is one of the best limited-overs batsmen for the Men in Blue. But his troubles against the new red ball in whites is well known to everyone. His footwork against the swinging ball is extremely vulnerable which leads to his undoing and the same happened in the practice game against Essex on Wednesday. However, there was more outrage on Twitter as he tweeted after getting out while sitting in the dressing room.

Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bat first. But Dhawan was sent back for a golden duck by Matt Coles in the very first over. He tentatively pushed at the ball without moving his feet as it tookย the inside edge only to get caught by the wicketkeeper James Foster. The visitors couldn’t have asked for a worst start to their preparations for the gruelling Test series.

Dhawan’s tweet

Every cricketer works hard at the nets ahead of the game and no wonder Shikhar Dhawan had also done the same before stepping out to bat in Chelmsford. The left-hander, after perishing for a golden duck, took to his Twitter handle and posted the video of him middling the ball while training and was extremely happy.

But the fact that he failed to replicate the same touch during the match can’t be overlooked. There is a lot of difference in practising at the nets and bringing the same form on the 22 yards during the match. Dhawan was also caught in a similar confusion it seems as he was caught in the crease while facing the new cherry.

Twitterati was already busy making jokes on him after his dismissal and to make things worse, the southpaw tweeted the video of him middling the ball in the nets. The fans were all over Dhawan soon and trolled him hilariously over the same.

Here’s Dhawan’s tweet:
