Twitterati slam Kedar Jadhav for his indifferent knock against KKR in Abu Dhabi

Kedar Jadhav got into the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) back in 2018 and though in that year, he was ruled out due to injury, he garnered some decent outings under his belt in 2019. However, 2020 hasn’t been kind to him by any stretch of the imagination.

The right-hander has looked awfully short of form and confidence in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In six matches, he has batted on four instances and has scored 58 runs at a rather dismal average of 19.33.

Moreover, with a strike-rate of 98.30, he hasn’t been able to get runs at even a run-a-ball, depicting his travails with the bat in hand. The veteran couldn’t get going even in CSK’s previous match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

Kedar Jadhav strains

Jadhav came to bat when the CSK needed 39 runs off 21 balls at a required rate of 11.14. He had Sam Curran, who was timing the ball to perfection, for company in the middle. Even as Curran notched 17 off 11, Jadhav couldn’t even pick up the singles, adding to pressure on the others.

He started his knock, playing five dot balls off Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell. In the penultimate ball of the 18th over, Kedar got off the mark with a single off Russell and then hit a four off Sunil Narine through wide long-on.

In the next five deliveries, the batter got only two singles. He ended on seven off 12 balls at a strike-rate of 58.33. The Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, lost the match by 10 runs after crawling to 157 for the loss of five wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja tried his heart out to get the Yellow Army over the line. The left-hander racked up 21 runs off a mere eight balls with three fours and a six, but his efforts went in vain.

In the meantime, the CSK fans weren’t happy with Jadhav by any means. The users on Twitter lashed out at him for the indifferent knock at a stage when CSK needed someone to absorb the pressure.
