Twitterati stunned as Virat Kohli got injured for the decider

India and South Africa are currently fighting it out in the third and final T20 International at Newlands in Cape Town on Saturday. There was a lot of buzz around the decider as it was the last game for the visitors of the gruelling tour and they were eyeing to end it on a high. But they were jolted severely after their in-form skipper Virat Kohli was ruled out of the key encounter due to the stiff back. However, Twitter was stunned after they saw Rohit Sharma coming out for the toss along with the opposition skipper JP Duminy.

Most of the fans would’ve expected both the teams to play the same side for the decider. But they dished out a lot of surprises as David Miller was promoted to open the innings by dropping JJ Smuts by South Africa. They also included the likes of Aaron Phangiso and handed a debut to Christiaan Jonker. The visitors, on the other hand, made three changes by bringing back Jasprit Bumrah, Dinesh Karthik and Axar Patel. While Virat Kohli was injured, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jaydev Unadkat were dropped.

Twitter shocked

The home side won the toss and opted to field first in the final T20 International. The Men in Blue lost their stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma in the very second over as Junior Dala once again became his nemesis. He was pinned in front which summed up his miserable tour apart from one century in Port Elizabeth during the ODI series. It would be interesting to see the way the Indian batting line-up fares in the absence of their gun player in Virat Kohli.

Twitterati was very much excited for the game after India Women sealed the historic series win earlier in the day. But they were highly disappointed, rather shocked after knowing that their favourite player was missing due to a stiff back.
