Murali Vijay has been a controversial figure in his personal life. The veteran has fallen out of contention for a berth in the Indian national team after the Test series against Australia in 2018-19. With the emergence of Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill, the road ahead for the batsman remains a blur. During this time, Vijay has also resorted to playing county cricket in England.

He also played in the previous Tamil Nadu Premier League. Recently, he has been spending some quality time at home with his family. It’s because India is under a lockdown, at least until May 3 due to the massive coronavirus outbreak. In order to break the boredom, he has been attending live sessions on social media platforms. Recently, he attended one from his own IPL franchise.

Murali Vijay’s message for Perry

During the conversation, he was asked to name two cricketers, who he would prefer to have dinner with. To start with he took Australian women’s all-rounder Ellyse Perry’s name followed by Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan. Vijay as called Perry as ‘beautiful’.

“Ellyse Perry. I want to have dinner with her. She is so beautiful,” Vijay was quoted as saying in the live session on Instagram. “And Shikhar Dhawan any day. He is a fun guy. Just that he will speak Hindi and I will be conversing in Tamil,” he added.

Perry was recently a part of the Women’s T20 World Cup at home. She was expected to play a crucial role for the home team. Though her team won, she had a torrid time. To add insult to injury, she developed an injury and was ruled out of the tournament. But it didn’t dampen her spirit. She was there at the venue when Australia beat India in the final of the mega event.

In the meantime, the fans aren’t happy with Vijay by any stretch of the imagination. After he put forth his desire with Perry, the users on Twitter didn’t mince any words to troll Vijay. Some even asked Perry’s husband to be careful. A few even asked Vijay to be careful since Perry’s husband is a rugby player.
