Twitterati trolls Stuart Binny for his sluggish knock
Stuart Binny played 20 balls at a strike-rate of 90.
Veteran Indian all-rounder Stuart Binny is definitely not going through a good patch. The last time he donned the national colours, he was spanked for 5 sixes in an over. With the IPL 2017 on the cards for him, Binny had the ideal stage set to reinstate his claim in the national side. But that seems to be a far cry for the moment.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore took on the Kings XI Punjab at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. The batsmen of the RCB camp had a terrible time at the crease as they failed to get runs on the day. It was a one-man show from AB de Villiers who took the Challengers to a decent total of 148 on the day.
AB de Villiers scored an unbeaten 89 off just 46 deliveries and looked in supreme touch. While he was clubbing the bowlers at will, the batsman at the other end – Stuart Binny – found it tough at the crease. He could manage only an unbeaten 18 off 20 balls with a four and a six. His sluggish knock did not do any good to him on the social media where he is a crowd favourite anyway.
The Twitterati took very little time to troll Binny for his knock. Binny had an ideal stage to perform and make a mark for himself. He came in to bat early on in the 14th over after the fall of the fourth wicket, Mandeep Singh. With close to 6 overs in hand and AB going all guns blazing, Stuart Binny had all the license to go for the onslaught as well. The fact that the likes of sloggers Pawan Negi and Iqbal Abdulla waited in the dugout to follow only made this assumption stronger.
However, Binny chose to play a very defensive knock and ended up getting trolled by the fans on the social media. Much to the defense of Binny though, the track was really not an easy one for the RCB batsman (at least it seemed that way). Even Mandeep Singh scored 28 off 34 deliveries and was sluggish in his knock. But, the crowds found a chance to troll Binny and were at it again. Here is how they reacted to his knock.
