Tymal Mills to play for Hobart Hurricanes in Big Bash League
The fast bowler has signed a 2-year contract with Hobart Hurricanes.
25-year-old Tymal Mills have been roped in by Hobart Hurricanes for the upcoming KFC Big Bash season. Mills played for Brisbane Heat last year. He had an eventful 2-game stint with the HEAT franchise before signing a 2-year contract with the Hurricanes recently. He was sold for $2.3 million during this year’s IPL auction and went on to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
Mills is a T20 specialist and has played 67 T20s so far, picking 77 wickets at an average of 22.54. He has represented England in 4 T2oIs so far. The pacer can bowl at 150 kph, and has a deadly back-of-the-hand delivery to his credit.
Mills is pleased
“I was really pleased when my agent gave me the call and said the Hurricanes were interested in me coming over. I want to make it a long-lasting relationship, so I’m really pleased to sign on for a couple of seasons,” the 25-year-old said. “The Big Bash is a great tournament; I’ve been watching it at home for the last few years now and I know it’s a competition which British cricketers and fans really enjoy watching.” he added.
“Whenever I take the new ball and bowl in the Power Play I look to come hard – bowl fast, bowl my bouncers and use the pace and angle I’ve got being a left-armer,” he said
“If there is any extra bounce in the surfaces we play on, then hopefully I’ll exploit that. At the end of innings I like to mix up my pace, get some yorkers in and slower balls as well. I’d like to think I’m suited to most wickets, so hopefully we can get some nice ones this summer.” Mills said.
