India recorded a thumping win over their arch-rivals Pakistan by a huge 203-run margin to confirm their berth in the Under-19 World Cup 2018 Final. A convincing batting performance led by Shubman Gill’s unbeaten hundred saw India posting 272/9 on the board. Gill continued his rich form by scoring a 94-ball 102 to make it an easy task to his bowlers. Ishan Porel wrenched Pakistan’s batting with a four-wicket haul as the chasing side collapsed to 48/8 and eventually bowled out for 69. India will now face Australia in the Finals on February 3rd.

1 – Shubman Gill is the first player to score a century in the India-Pakistan Under-19 World Cup matches. Salman Butt’s 85* in the 2002 edition was the previous highest individual score in Indo-Pak U19 CWC games.
4 – Number of fifty-plus scores in the four innings for Shubman Gill in this U19 CWC. He became the 2nd player the Under-19 World Cup history with 50+ four consecutive innings. Bangladesh’s Mehedy Hasan Miraz scored four in a row in the 2016 edition.
4/17 – Ishan Porel’s bowling figures of 4/17 are the 3rd best for an Indian in a U19 CWC knockout match. Piyush Chawla took 4/8 against Pakistan in the 2006 Final while Abu Nechim Ahmed took 4/14 against England in the semis of the same edition.
6 – Shubman Gill became the first player in Youth ODI history to score fifty-plus scores in six consecutive innings. He scored a hundred and fifty in his last two innings during the Youth ODI series against England last year and three fifties and a century in the four innings he batted in this tournament.
6 – India qualified for the Under-19 World Cup finals for the 6th time; the most by any team. Pakistan made five appearances in the U19 CWC final while Australia will play their 5th final on Saturday.
69 – Pakistan’s total of 69/10 in this game is their lowest in Under-19 World Cup history surpassing the 70/10 against England in the 1988 edition. Overall, this is Pakistan’s 3rd lowest total in Youth ODIs behind 57/10 and 63/10 against Afghanistan in the 2017 U19 Asia Cup.
93 – Balls needed for Shubman Gill to complete his hundred in this game. This is the 3rd fastest hundred by an Indian in Under-19 World Cup. Virat Kohli scored a hundred against Windies in 2008 off 73 balls while Rishabh Pant needed 82 balls for his century in the 2016 Quarters against Namibia.
203 – India’s 203-run margin in this game is the 2nd biggest for any team in a Youth ODI knockout match. India defeated England in the 2006 U19 CWC semis by a huge 234-run margin. Afghanistan’s 202-run win in the semi-final against New Zealand is the 3rd biggest.
203 – The 203-run defeat is the biggest for Pakistan in Youth ODI cricket surpassing the 185-run defeat against Afghanistan in the 2017 U19 Asia Cup Final.
