U19 World Cup 2022: High Commissioner of India to Antigua and Barbuda hosts a reception for the victorious Indian team in Guyana

The India Under 19 side experienced a fairytale run in the Under 19 World Cup that culminated in the side lifting the title for a record 5th time. And, after their incredible run in the tournament, the Indian High Commissioner to Antigua, Dr. KJ Srinivasa arranged a reception for the side.
Former West Indian cricketing behemoths Sir Curtly Ambrose and Sir Richie Richardson also attended the event. Indian cricket legend VVS Laxman also graced the occasion alongside the selectors of the U19 side, Ranadeb Bose and Prathik Patel.
Also, Indian diplomat KJ Srinivasa stated that the Under19 World Cup has brought together several people to congratulate the Yash Dhull led Indian side and this achievement was inspired by the cricket legends who had attended the event.
“This event brought together people to congratulate the achievements of our young team and the team was inspired by the presence and interaction with legends,” said Srinivasa as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Dr. KJ Srinivasa also added that the young colts have performed well in the ICC Under19 World Cup. Adding that the Indian side showed positive approach and mature thinking, Srinivasa concluded by stating that the future of Indian cricket in good hands.
“This young brigade has really performed very well, being unbeaten in the tournament. Their positive approach, mature thinking, coming back from adversity where nearly half the team was down with Covid shows that the future of Indian cricket is in great hands,” concluded the Indian diplomat.
The India U19 side defeated the England U19 side with 4 wickets to spare in the summit clash of the ICC Under 19 World Cup. England U19 batted first and was shot out for just 189, as Raj Bawa scalped a five-wicket haul.
In reply, the ‘Men in Blue’ chased down the target with 14 balls remaining. Shaik Rasheed and Nishant Sindhu scored 50 each to steer India to a famous win.
