Even though there is over a month left for the commencement of the UAE T20X league, there is already a lot of excitement about it. The organisers of the tournament have got huge plans in store. With AB de Villiers already signed as the brand ambassador for the league, there seem to be bigger surprises on the way.

Apparently, the league is now looking on chances of roping in Indian players to increase its reach. Although we know that the BCCI hardly permits its players to feature in foreign leagues, the T20X organisers have got the backing of the UAE Royal family. It is through these sources that they are looking forward to getting some Indian players to play the tournament.

A few Indian players already approached

According to the reports in the Mumbai Mirror, some of the Indian players were already approached to participate in the inaugural season. Furthermore, they were offered huge deals and lucrative offers. Also, it is learned that the fee ranges from $350,000 up to a million dollars.

“Quite a few Indian players have been approached with megabucks. The fee is learned to be ranging between $ 350,000 and a million and some aging Indians, who have still not retired, have been contacted,” sources mentioned.

Irfan Pathan, who is playing this domestic season for Jammu and Kashmir confirmed the newspaper about him getting an offer. But, the all-rounder didn’t reveal the details about the offer.

“It is correct but I am playing domestic cricket and mentoring Jammu and Kashmir and currently focusing on Ranji Trophy,” Pathan said.

The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) which is a licencing partner for the league has insisted the organisers on NOC for each player from his home board. The reports further suggest that quite a few players from Baroda, Karnataka and Delhi were given some offers.

The inaugural edition of UAE T20X will be played from December 19 to January 11 in Dubai and Sharjah.
