Umaid Asif has been the talk of the town ever since his four-wicket spell on PSL debut. Playing for Peshawar Zalmi, he accounted for four top order wickets of the Islamabad United as they were left reeling at 25/4. The 33 year old went on to win the man of the match for his spectacular bowling effort.
This isn’t the first time he made a mark. Even during Pakistan’s National T20 tournament, he ended up being the highest wicket taker representing Islamabad. Moreover, he was called in as a replacement for injured Hasan Ali. Now after his brilliant performance in the PSL, his brother Faizan Asif who plays cricket for UAE was glad of him.

For me, my brother has been a source of motivation and whenever we meet we motivate each other as it has never been as easy journey for us and we had to face lot of hardships.”
I will stick to my natural variations like I did in the National T20 tournament to pick wickets

He described how his performance against Islamabad United was a result of all his hard work throughout the years. The 33-year-old looked forward to taking more wickets and replicating his performances from the National T20 tournament.

I will stick to my natural variations in bowling, like I did in the Pakistan National T20 tournament, to pick up wickets.” He was quoted as saying by Gulf News.
