The ongoing Under-19 Cricket World Cup is coming to an end with India and England qualifying for the final clash. The two sides will meet at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound in Antigua and stakes will be incredibly high. This will be India’s fourth successive appearance in the tournament’s finals and the Boys in Blue would be hunting for their fifth title.
On the other hand, The Three Lions, who won the competition in 1998, are searching for their second title. Meanwhile, the ongoing tournament has witnessed some sensational on-field action with some exceptional knocks, jaw-dropping spells and spectacular fielding efforts. Many of these prodigies are also expected to make a significant mark at the highest level as well.
Meanwhile, ahead of the final clash, the official Instagram page of International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a light moment from the mega. The clip, which was posted on Friday (February 4), shows two members of the medical team entering the field in a hilarious fashion. The duo, who were carrying the necessary kits in hand, faced a hurdle while entering the field. They had to go over the advertisement board which was of certain height.
Medics’ gaffe leaves fans in splits
Instead of taking the longer route, they decided to jump over the board but their landing wasn’t too smooth. ICC found the gaffe hilarious and so did the fans. “Medical assistance football skills jumping over the fence? Well, almost #CWC19,” read the caption of the clip.
Meanwhile, veteran commentator Alan Wilkins also joined in the fun as the two tried to jump over the boards to enter the field. “Oh, I wouldn’t advice doing that. Ohh sir, Oh gosh! It’s all gone over,” said Wilkins as the two members of the medical staff took a tumble.
“I think we better get the reserve medics out. He may need some treatment. Well done, sir. Absolutely top effort that,” he added. Meanwhile, at the end of the video, the male medic also showcased his football skills as he passed the ball, which was on the ground, through his one foot.
