Hailed as the World’s fastest man Usain Bolt ran the last 100m race of his glorious career today. Though the big Jamaican could not snatch the gold medal for one last time. it has been an unthinkable career for the man. The ever so familiar gold medal that has always been Bolt’s, went to Justin Gatlin as Usain settled for the 3rd spot with a bronze. Christian Coleman picked up the silver in the race which marked a monumental departure for Usain Bolt.
Let us take this moment and take you back to 2012 when Usain Bolt revealed that he loved watching the Pakistan cricket team play. Not only Pakistan, but the greatest sprinter in the history of sports is also a fan of Waqar Younis. Bolt termed Waqar as one of the finest bowlers of all time while mentioning that he used to support Pakistan as a kid. He also revealed that the realization of supporting his country came as he grew.
What Bolt said:
“When I was really small I loved Pakistan cricket team. Waqar was one of the greatest Pakistan bowlers ever, and I was a bowler so I really enjoyed watching him. I was a big Pakistan fan until I got older when I noticed that I should actually support my home team.” Bolt had said.
“I would still have supported Pakistan, that is what I am saying — when I was little, it was all about Pakistan.” added Bolt.
Bolt’s glorious career includes 8 Olympic Gold medals and his name is right there at the top among the greatest Olympians of all time. He reigned supreme at three consecutive Olympic games winning the 100 and 200-metre formats comprehensively. Bolt has previously mentioned his love for both cricket and football and has also stated that he also has offers from various sports clubs.
