KL Rahul has exuded his fiefdom in the ongoing England-India Test series by producing some impressive performances so far. He is making a comeback in the red-ball format in style after a span of nearly two years now. The former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has thus lavished praises on KL Rahul for his commendable performances.

It seemed that Rahul continued his innings from where he left it at the Trent Bridge. In the ongoing Lord’s Test, the batter played poised and impressive innings of 129. Though he started slow, he built on his innings with some quality batting display to score his sixth Test century and the second one against England. Inzamam-ul-Haq pointed out Rahul is a rare player whose maximum centuries have come away from home.

“If we talk about KL Rahul, five of his six Test centuries have come away from home. This is second in England and he has scored a century in Australia as well. Very rarely do we see batsmen with such performances. Very few batsmen have such a record where their initial 8-10 centuries are away from home,” Inzamam said on his YouTube channel.

KL Rahul’s system is the opposite: Inzamam-ul-Haq

KL Rahul made his debut in the red-ball format against Australia. He smashed his maiden Test hundred in Australia in the second Test in Sydney by facing the lethal bowling attack of the Aussies. The batter was brought under scrutiny for his performances lately but he has shushed the noise by shining against a powerful opposition like England.

The flying starts that he provided the team along with Rohit Sharma strengthened the Indian side in the first Test and it was the same way round at Lord’s too. Inzamam admired Rahul’s confidence and also congratulated him for his splendid innings.

“You might have seen plenty of players with away centuries, but usually they score their first set of hundreds at home, gain experience and then score away. However, KL Rahul’s system is the opposite. The confidence with which he is playing is great to watch. Even in the first Test, where he scored 84, it was more crucial than anyone else. He helped India gain the lead and played a huge role. So huge congratulations to KL Rahul,” Inzamam added.
