Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan chooses KPL team Hubli Tigers over TNPL
Stating that it was a ‘battle between heart and mind’, Vidyut has also gone on to add that he had given a commitment to the Hubli Tigers who will be participating in the upcoming edition of the Karnataka Premier League.
Vidyut, who has played previously for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL initially wanted to be a part of the TNPL. “I signed up with Hubli for two years. Though I really want to be a part of the TNPL, which looks so promising, I can’t forget the opportunity provided by Hubli. I had given them my commitment and I will stick to it,”Vidyut told TOI on Tuesday.
“A few teams were in talks with me in the initial stages, but I knew that the two schedules would definitely clash with each other. Therefore, I decided to go on with KPL,” said Vidyut, whose Tigers finished runners-up in the last season.

“I have seen people come in numbers in smaller cricketing centres. People are accustomed to seeing Ashwin or Vijay or Dinesh play at Chepauk. But those in Dindigul or Tirunelveli only dream of such things. The very sight of these stars will thrill them. It will ensure the fans make it to the grounds,” he added.
“Though there was little time for talent scouting ahead of this TNPL, I’m sure in the seasons ahead teams will have camps all over the state and bring to light exciting players,” said Vidyut.
